The 36 Rays of the Hidden Light
Share
There is a very special light that descends into the world during Chanukah, the Or HaGanuz, the “Hidden Light.”
Kabbalah teaches that this was the infinite light that shone during the first 36 hours of Creation. It was a light filled with the direct presence of HaShem, holding within it all the potential, beauty, and miracles the world would ever need.
This is why we light 36 candles over the eight nights of Chanukah. Each flame is a small window into that original light, pure, infinite, untouched. And when this light returns to the world during these days, the atmosphere changes. The air itself feels softer, brighter. It becomes a time when miracles feel closer, because the light that once held the entire future of Creation is shining again.
Last year on the blog, I asked a simple question:
“What gift can we give HaShem?”
This year, as the light of Chanukah descends once more, perhaps we can ask ourselves another quiet question:
Have we grown? What can we offer that is a little brighter, a little truer, than last year?
Chanukah invites us not only to receive light, but to be light.
To let the Or HaGanuz awaken the hidden radiance inside each of us.
May this Chanukah bring you miracles, clarity, and the courage to shine.
