During this time of Teshuva, our approach should be simple before the King of Kings. The Torah repeatedly teaches us that HaShem loves us and blesses us as His children. In this light, let us add His desire to see the success of His children. No situation, failure, or despair can sever this sacred bond.
This year, we must offer HaShem our infinite love and the sense of unity that He cherishes. Many have had to cancel their trips to Uman. Could this be a message for us? What happens in Uman—a unique and palpable brotherhood, joy, light, and closeness to HaShem that touches the soul—should be created wherever we are.
HaShem seems to be asking us to ignite that light, to open our arms and welcome our brothers and sisters, and to lift our eyes to Him as children do with their parents—acknowledging both our strengths and flaws, but always recognizing that we are the people He calls His children.
Thank you to my teachers for instilling this wisdom in me. Wishing everyone a Shana Tova !
