HOSHANA RABBAH ... Open Your Mouth and Sing

HOSHANA RABBAH ... Open Your Mouth and Sing

We have reached the peak of these 51 days.

For weeks, we have been speaking to Hashem.

We have prayed.
We have asked forgiveness.
We have poured out our hearts in words, tears, hopes and endless prayers.

We have made our case.

And yet, after all our words, perhaps we finally understand what our great sages understood before us — and what David HaMelech himself knew:

We are poor.
We are empty-handed.

Like the aravah, the willow branch — without taste, without fragrance — we come before the King with little to offer.

And perhaps this is where our greatest strength lies:

Emunah.

The simple, unwavering trust in the infinite love Hashem has for us.

Nothing stands before You, Master of the world.

There are moments when our dialogue with Heaven may feel strangely quiet.

We speak.

We ask.

We wait.

But no whisper is ever lost.

Every prayer has an echo.

Sometimes the answer is a miracle we can see with our own eyes — an impossible moment, an unexpected rescue, a plane falling from the sky that suddenly regains control and lands safely.

But most miracles are hidden.

We will never know how many times we were protected, guided, or saved without ever realizing it.

Eliyahu HaNavi teaches that these hidden miracles number in the millions.

Perhaps this is why Hoshana Rabbah leads us directly toward Simchat Torah.

After all the words, all the pleading, all the tears —

open your mouth and sing.

You have a mouth of gold.

Use it.

Sing with the knowledge that your voice is heard.

Sing with Emunah.

Sing because the greatest miracle may not always be the one you can see.

Sometimes, it is simply that you are still here.

Still praying.

Still trusting.

Still loved.

Hoshana Rabbah.

Simchat Torah.

After all the words,
let the song begin.
