Scenes from the Life of Rabbi Isaac Luria, Shalom Moskowitz the Galilean, Safed: [mid-20th century]

5 Av : Hilloula du Arizal, Rabbi Its’hak Ashkenazi Louria (1534-1572)

Today marks the hilula of the ARI z”l, Rabbi Isaac Luria , the holy Lion of Kabbalah whose luminous teachings continue to inspire. Born in Jerusalem in 1534 and passing away in Safed on the 5th of Av, his spiritual legacy—channeled through his disciple Rabbi Chaim Vital—established the Lurianic Kabbalah, a map for elevating divine sparks in every soul.

Over centuries, thousands journey to Safed every 5 Av to honor his hillula, studying his insights, praying, and connecting with his sacred flame. In his memory, may we too kindle our inner light and bring healing to the world.

May the light of the Ari z”l guide us in gathering the sparks of holiness scattered in our world. This 5 Av, let’s study, sing, and elevate.

Mikhal
